About the
Center
The Fullerton College
Center is accredited by the National Association for
the Education of Young Children and falls under the Social Science Division within the college. Our
center provides licensed, developmentally appropriate, skilled early
education and care for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5 1/2
years. The teacher-child ratio is 1:8.
The center serves families
without regards to sex, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference,
or physical handicap. The program refrains from any instruction that
is religiously based. Our
services are designed to meet each child's developmental needs within
the confines of the State Department of Education of Social Services
Title 22 regulations.
Our Philosophy
Our center adheres to a
developmental approach
to educating young children. The program emphasizes all areas of a
child's growth and development i.e. social/emotional, cognitive,
creative, and physical growth. Part of our program's philosophy is
that children learn best through an environment, which allows them to
have hands-on experiences. Our curriculum and programming is based on
the interests and needs of each individual.
Access to the Center
Parents are welcome anytime
during our normal operational hours. You may come in to observe your
child, have lunch with them, interact and participate during group
times, and volunteer. Our hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to
6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, year-around. Our center follows the
campus holiday schedule. Our full day program includes a nutritious
breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
